GS1 Germany has presented the award to special partnerships in the consumer goods industry for 20 years and the award ceremony was held live and on the big stage in Dusseldorf again after two virtual years. The trophies only went to company-wide partnerships that set an example for optimised value creation to increase customer benefits.
ECR Award in the category «Operational Excellence»
Beiersdorf, dm-drogerie markt, Rossmann and Markant received the ECR Award 2022 in the category «Operational Excellence» for the AI-controlled platform developed in cooperation. The aim of this is to enhance supply quotas, logistics and production processes. A total of ten retailers and 64 suppliers have already benefited from the extensive exchange of data as part of the cooperation. The result is a 33-week forecast for each retail warehouse regarding the weekly delivery to be expected for each product. The practical use shows that the forecasts help to manage production planning more precisely, avoid overstocking and non-deliveries and respond to fluctuations. The forecast engine takes hundreds of factors into account that influence demand in the retail sector. The feedback of participants from the global value chains and the holistic approach of the industry and retail sector impressed the jury.
